I think for Rampart, Harrelson's monologue about what's going to happen if he gets kicked off the force was more memorable than the "dungeon" scene. I think that speech is what will secure his Oscar nomination.

A little disappointed that this didn't include the "coin scene" from the end of "X-Men: First Class".

Brilliant use of parallel editing and framing (what literally happens to one character, also metaphorically happens to the other) coupled with the fact that we actually don't know if it's slow-motion or if things are really happening so slow – make this one of the best scenes in mainstream, tent-pole cinema in recent years.

Although it wasn't as strong as the films on this list… SUPER 8 's train crash / fan made movies were pretty amazing.

I also enjoyed 50/50 's before the surgery scene. And the Matthew Lillard scene in Descendants which was my favorite supporting performance of the year.

Great list, though.
