The batting average on Marvel properties actually ain't that great.

and these movies are expensive to make, one or two of these interlocking scripts bombs and the house of cards comes down.

Also what, in the long term, is the public appetite for superhero movies? A big one every 6 weeks, two months? I don't think so.

and finally has anyone noticed that every origin story has the same story/character arc?

It wasnt long ago but all of the movies based on Marvel characters sucked! Remember PUNISHER? Remember CAPTAIN AMERICA? Remember FANTASTIC FOUR from Corman? Back then DC based movies were better.

Now its the contrary.

I'm not taking side but I'm sure DC will turn things around.
