I can\’t see Lex being the thing that "puts mankind in greater danger than it\’s ever known before". Lex takes issue with Superman\’s god-like status and makes Superman\’s life a subsequent hell, true, but having him break from the gate by putting the whole of humanity at stake is a little bit too much for this film. It seems more likely his involvement will be a setup for the next Superman film to not feature Batman (or another hero), as a means to establish just how much Lex has a dislike for Superman. Whatever the threat is, it\’d have to be something serious enough to potentially push both Batman and Superman into a partnership, so my immediate guess is one involving someone/something from Apokolips coming to earth.
