Ledger was chilling when portraying the character, and his role was made even more memorable by his early passing that it especially sticks in people\’s memories. I like that this version of the Joker is different rather than attempting to try and simply recapture the exact look of Ledger\’s joker. They need to be considered different entities since they will exist in different franchises. Christopher Nolan\’s Dark Knight Trilogy was dark and set in a Gotham that wasn\’t too far from reality. Leto\’s version of the Joker looks much more "comic" inspired, and it is refreshing to see that they might take a the new franchise in a different thematic direction.
