I\’m sorry but every one of these films has been bland and will continue to be bland until they get a new director. I hate the lighting in all of the X-Men and Wolverine films and the Production Design is always completely uninspired – they all look like made for TV Movies to me. I always feel like I\’m watching actors in Halloween costumes and face paint instead of the classic characters from the comics. The whole series is just missing that \’x-factor\’ to make them great, you know? (forgive the pun)

If you\’re going to \’reboot the series\’ then reboot it – I don\’t need all the \’time traveling / alternate universe, sorry Part 3 actually had the balls to do something you never expected\’ stuff. Just ditch Singer and get someone with a strong voice who\’s work doesn\’t look so flat and artless. Zack Snyder might not be much of a storyteller but at least his stuff doesn\’t look like a movie of the week with costumes from a Halloween Rental place in a strip mall.

Christ, now I can\’t unsee Ivan Ooze. Also, Olivia Munn being cast as Psylocke isn\’t great but at least they didn\’t try to half-ass it and find someone who looked "vaguely Asian" like they did in X-Men: The Last Stand, thankfully they saved that for the miscasting of Jubilee.

Is it any coincidence that Singer is making all these films with themes of identity confusion that are coded to appeal to juveniles on the cusp of adulthood? I mean, straight directors do the same thing, but it seems Singer is paving the way for his future conquests to already be predisposed to liking him through his films.
