I think he could have been as good as Sean Connery!
Rod was also offered the part, that Omar Sharif took in Dr Zhivago, and was originaly offered the lead role in Planet of the Apes, which ended up going to Charlton Heston.It’s too bad Rod missed on these roles, as his career might not have floundered in the mid 1970’s!

Taylor is actually 78, 8 years older than Churchill was in ’44, but he sure does look like him.
