What are you talking about Skierpete? The Hateful Eight, Bone Tomahawk, Slow West, The Keeping Room, The Revenant, Jane Got A Gun, Forsaken, Diablo, The Salvation, The Homesman, The Dark Valley; all came out within the past couple years. None of them are remakes.

"Likely wouldn\’t exist" … well considering that it was a remake, it\’s pretty safe to say that it definitely wouldn\’t exist without Seven Samurai.

I would be more upset if it wasn\’t for the fact that this seems to be the only way we ever get new westerns anymore – via remake. And I think Hollywood should be mandated to make one western per year. So yeah – I\’m OK with this.
