Seriously, the whole franchise is built on it. Why do you think Meyer thanked the bands that inspired her in the ‘New Moon’ acknowledgements? The soundtracks so far virtually mimic the playlists Meyer has had on her website since she started writing the series, citing the songs she listened to while writing and those she found reflective of the story. Many may not think it's particularly fitting, but hey, Meyer did. Whether they’re on an official soundtrack or not, the association between band and text already exists. So in my opinion, it’s less a case of selling out, and more one of giving a nod to the original inspiration. *shrugs*

I couldn't stop looking at it. In fact, I'm now convinced it isn't photoshoped, and I believe Thom Yorke actually went to the set and shot some photos with Stewart for publicity purposes.
