I don't see why anyone on The Playlist would be motivated to see a two and a half hour remake of "The Karate Kid" from the director of "One Night At McCool's."

Hey, Anonymous, just cos it's there doesn't mean you have to read it, hon. The Playlist still covers arthouse and indie movies (and tends to give them far more space than this sort of stuff – note the KK2 post is what, less than a fifth? the length of the "Let It Rain" review, posted just over an hour before which I assume is the sort 'good' movie you refer to). If the Playlist collectively has a wider field of movie interest than you do, that's to its credit. And as long as it still covers the smaller stuff to the degree it does, you don't really have any cause for complaint unless you have not yet worked out how to use the scroll function on your browser.

its ok not to write a news story every 30 minutes if there is nothing to write about. it's just this place used to be more anti-fanboy and well now we all love our comic book movies and trash sequels and remakes (as they are covered giving them cred).

I would love a biased site that just focuses on good movies, hell i dont think i am alone there. the less we say about shity films, the less of a leg they have to stand on.

Look at the stories you are covering… karate kid 2 (remake), that fucking 300 owl movie… why bother covering this, your site is good and brings a lot of people news about art/indie films. Leave the shitty films to AICN and don't do your site a disservice by giving them press. How many readers are you gaining by having Smurfs news? you are better than that, it will also help shape the kind of personality playlist has as a blog.
