Did you mean more like a \’Red Riding\’ installment? As in the quartet of related novels/trilogy of related films, because that would make a lot more sense in the context. As for Millenium, those are all very much one narrative, though with a bit more of a break between the first two.

All that aside, Elite Squad may be the quintessential crime film of the past decade, and I\’m looking forward to this since it\’s shared the strong reception of the original.

If you judge a country by it\’s \”action\” flicks, than yeah Brazil is a fucked up place. And so is the USA and every other country. Let\’s be less naive and prejudiced (otherwise we could just say \”there goes the stupid uneducated American, thinking his got every nation figured it out\”…

Padilha is a great director, and has captured the country\’s fury with it\’s corruption through Nascimento\’s (Wagner Moura) character and crusade in the second film. Cheers to the guy and let\’s hope this is the end of this story. Both great films (who should never be taken lightly or literally), let\’s leave it at that.

Brazil really is a fucked-up place, but I hope you\’re not coming to this conclusion solely by watching Padilha\’s movies. The sense of authenticity he manages to give his films are very, very loosely based on reality, and he doesn\’t even pretend otherwise.

Yes, you are wrong, you don\’t live here and don\’t know under what circunstances the script is inspired. This film is about Rio de Janeiro under the administration of governor Garotinho. Brasil is as violent as any part of the world where crime exists. This is a fact , i see movies like heat, or the french conection or more recently Siners and Saints and don\’t think that the united states is a Fucked – up place… Do you know why? because it\’s a fuckin movie, not real life. Never call my country a fucked up place ! who the fuck are you to say that?
