\”The Black Hole\” is the darkest movie ever to bear the Disney name. It is noteworthy for that fact alone.

However, other features stand out as well. The score (still one of my favorites after 30 years), the production design (the robots Maximilian and VINCENT), and top-notch performances by Maximilian Schell, Anthony Perkins and Robert Forster.

I personally love \”The Black Hole\” as much as the original \”Tron.\” They both have a place on my DVD shelf.

Yeah. I mean, Tron isn\’t perfect, but it\’s a beautiful, visionary film born of passion to put a distinct vision on screen. The Black Hole?! Is Disney\’s cynical, tacky Star Wars rip-off (saved mainly by it\’s truly strange ending, when they run out of Star Wars to steal from and start copping 2001.)

I\’m kind\’ve amazed at all the attacks on Tron popping up lately and this sudden consensus that it\’s a terrible film which nobody remembers and which nobody saw when it came out. That\’s pretty much the exact opposite of what people have thought about it since 1982….

Black Hole is a WRETCHED movie. I could tell that as a 5 year old, for God\’s sake.

Tron wasn\’t as good as a lot of people \”remember\” it (because the video game was awesome), but it was at least fun.
