Winner of two awards at the Berlin International Film Festival, not to mention countless honors from around the world and critical acclaim, "52 Tuesdays" built up quite a bit of buzz on the festival circuit before landing in cinemas this past spring. But if you missed the limited release, not only do we have exclusive clip from the movie, but also some DVD copies for some lucky readers.
Directed by Sophie Hyde, and starring Del Herbert-Jane and Tilda Cobham-Hervey, the affecting drama centers on 16-year-old Billie, whose reluctant path to independence is accelerated when her mother reveals plans for gender transition, and their time together becomes limited to Tuesday afternoons. Adding to the authenticity, the movie was filmed over the course of a year, once a week, every week — only on Tuesdays. And below, you can get a sense of how this impacted the performances in the movie.
