I knew "Abbot", (as he was known by his friends) Vaughn Meader, he was a character, sometimes, larger than life….though his comedy career crashed after JFK's death, we knew him as an entertainer, a singer and piano player and he continued to be very funny..though he lost his national recognition, he did not lose his local recognition and actually had quite a few friends up and down the EastCoast. He led an interesting life, full of predicaments, and the locals still hold him in fond regard, and talk about the Perils of being Abbot….it's nice to know that beyond Hallowell, that the 'Blue Bunny' will not be forgotten. He had an amazing ability to bring people together and started a Maine to Kentucky connection that is still a live today. Thank-you!
