That is sad to me that Chomet chooses to abandon hand-drawn animation for CG or Live-Action. We have many , many people directing CG animated films and even more making live-action, but precious few people who can do good hand-drawn animation. I understand that he must be tired and feeling burnt out by working in the labor intensive hand-drawn animation , especially because 'The Illusionist' was such a troubled production and in the end it did not make any money at the box-office , so I suppose it is inevitable that to remain "viable" as a director he must turn to CG animation or live-action. But Chomet was one of the standard-bearers for hand-drawn animation up until the financial failure of The Illusionist (and the financial failure of Django studio). I hope the experience has not embittered him forever against exploring hand-drawn animation .
