He wasn\’t expressing his opinion of Tron. He was merely pointing out that a lot of people didn\’t like Tron. Just looking at a quick Metacritic score, Tron: Legacy got a 49, while Scott Pilgrim got a 69.
Not to mention Scott Pilgrim basically became famous for everyone liking it and not enough people seeing it. Meanwhile, I\’ve heard nothing good about Tron: Legacy.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

\”I’d also have to give credit to the ‘Tron: Legacy” setpiece with the lightcycle. You can tell that this beautifully rendered sequence was most likely the whole reason for doing a reboot. So whatever you think of the movie as a whole, you can’t deny that this scene was superior eyecandy.\”

Isn\’t this a little snooty, coming from the director of Scott Pilgrim? Granted, Pilgrim had a better story than TRON, but it was no Lord of the Rings.
