Folks, unless you're a HUGE fan of a "high school production" of "The Wiz" (I put "high school" in quotes because it's way too well sung, staged and danced to EVER be a high school production), "Mark Pease" is absolutely, utterly worthless. I wonder if they could have banged on it for a while to produce something that didn't sort of suck, but the truth is that "Mark Pease" is worse than awful – it's just boring. Unless, of course, watching excerpts from "The Wiz" − which take up an unconscionable amount of the last half hour of the movie (or was it longer? it's hard to tell) … a movie that's only 1hr 15mins long (!) … is your sort of thing. I can see they were aiming for something, but, man, what a huge, gigantic, incredibly immense miss all this is. A waste of talent, resources, and time. I only hope everyone got a paycheck, since that's the only thing anyone could ever hope from that turkey.

I was really looking forward to this movie coming out! Of course, I was an extra in it when it was filmed in North Carolina, but all my friends and family would have come and seen it too. Looks like Paramount lost all of our money.

"Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one. " ~Stella Adler. In a summer (actually now, endless summers) full of mind-numbing, craftless "action flicks" (i.e. GI Doh!) aimed at "dumbing down" (like we can go much further) the minds of teenagers (& sadly adults alike), along comes a film like The Marc Pease Experience: a film which could obviously appeal to both. A "coming of age" story which aims at reminding us that we have a "soul." But in this age of corporate greed (i.e. read "soul-less, artistic-less studio heads"), a film like this isn't even given the respect of finding an audience…oh yeah, and Ben Stiller in it…only one of the top grossing comedy film stars out there! Well, 10 cities isn't much but hopefully the people that do see this film in those ten cities will spread what I am sure will be good news. I'm lucky, being in Philadelphia, at least I get to see it.

Im so sad! 🙁 I had a friend who went to one of the screenings and they LOVED it! They are not even giving it a chance it the cities they are releasing it too, who would go see a movie with no trailer or poster?

I'll take a made Jeremy Piven vehicle over an unmade Will Ferrell vehicle any day and twice on Sunday.

And let's be honest; the audience for the Marc Pease Experience would likely be a fair bit different from The Goods, so you're not talking apples-to-apples anyway.

I disagree. I think it is necessary to trash a repurposed version of a somewhat infamously unmade Will Ferrell vehicle that was an unnecessary remake of Used Cars.

This movie actually looks hilarious. All of the viral stuff has been mind-bogglingly funny. I'm a Love Liza fan and it's sad that this movie is getting dumped, but you don't have to snark one thing to boost another...
