I know this is dark but I feel like the last chapter could involve one of them being sick or dying. Boyhood kind of covered Ethan Hawke as a parent to a boy/teen/young adult so to do that again might feel like repeating themselves. But I think if one of them is sick or dying that will definitely give their story a different energy and approach.

Not “well into their 50s,” though. Hawke will be 51 in 2022 and Delpy will be 52. A little research goes a long way.

On the Criterion Blu-ray he talks about how if they did another three it could be about life post middle-age and would be called AFTER SUNRISE, AFTER SUNSET & AFTER MIDNIGHT.
Kind of hope they get the chance to do & will. I’m well over a decade behind the characters in age but would love to continue to age with these characters
