Young Hercules is tearing it up! He\'s zooming his way up to the A-list! He is waving bye-bye in the rear view mirror to Franco and Shia. Young Hercules has PRESENCE and the air of a winner. Booyah!

Of course the Playlist liked it - they\'ve all got hard-ons for Gosling. But seriously, this sounds like a fantastic movie. Good review.

I saw the infamous elevator scene at comic con.....and I\'m still drooling! This director is a force, and so is the entire cast! I really wanted to address Oscar Issac, who manages to turn every damn write off character in shitty movies into cinematic gold! Want proof? Watch Sucker Punch (or fast forward to all the good parts like most of America has done....including myself) and peep the confrontation scene between him, the girls and the doctor with the shitty accent......he owned that scene! I couldn\'t stop smiling! He shoots the girls, then brilliantly hands the gun over to one of his henchmen and says \"take this...I hate guns\"! It was the way he delivered it that made you feel the euphoria he caught from shooting them! It\'s a brilliant scene delivered by a brilliant man in a very shitty movie!

@ Will:

How about a bad year at the multiplex / mainstream cinema?

Great review Oli. This part clinches it \"blend the style and content so firmly that they become inseparable.\"

I\'m going to try to get everyone I know to see this and trying to get them to know as little as possible about it going in (like I did).

Um, a bad year at the movies? In a year that\'s seen The Tree of Life, Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, Meek\'s Cutoff, and Certified Copy? Not to mention 13 Assassins, Tabloid, Beginners, and (on TV) Mildred Pierce? Perhaps the multiplex has been suffering (although even that had Super 8), but I\'d venture to say that this has been the best year at the movies since at least 2007.
