The problem isn't that he made a 'gay joke', it's that he was casually tossing around a word designed to be hurtful to gay people. I don't think he's homophobic, but it was thoughtless, and someone in his position should have known better. The same goes for the public comments he made about Olivia Munn and Lindsey Lohan.
Giving Roman Polanski awards these days isn't a good thing either, as great a filmmaker as he is.

I think Ratner & Murphy wanted out, so they came up with this crazy idea. Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing Eddie Murphy at his best.

This is ridiculous, why they making the man a scape goat over a comment like that, i guess he should have said sissies or better yet, a racial slur like rehearsing is for Asian,s or another other race it would have caused the same uproar.

guess in the Future he needs to be more politically correct and said rehearsing is for pussy's, i bet all the women, and mammal or the cat family would have a fit too.

This is very sad. I'm sorry to hear this but as long as he only does movies for adults from now on, it is good enough for me.
It will be interesting to see if they select one or two young rising actors to host again like last time or one or two comedians.
