Let me see if I understand the gist of this article. Movies might not be good when you sit down and watch the actual film rather than a few stills, a trailer or a carefully chosen scene? Really? Fanboys and nerds are not a dependable barometer of quality? Are you going to stand behind these kind of statements? Because they sound like heresy to me.

What about Avatar? I'm not saying it will fail. I'm pretty confident all of us would say it'll gross at least $300 million domestically . But is that enough for Avatar? Isn't the budget around $200?

With the expectations for this movie, can it live up to the hyped potential? It could be included on your list for the sole reason of it being really difficult to live up to this much anticipation.

It won't be Titanic, and The Dark Knight had an extraordinary spotlight on it because of the tragic passing of Ledger and the great work he left behind.
Will 3D life-like plants and alien civilizations be enough?

I have faith in JONAH HEX. Apparently Fox's role is tiny, and she's just on the poster to attract crowds. Plus, Brolin, Arnett, Malckovitch (sorry), and Shannon starring in a supernatural western written by guys who are bat-shit crazy? Not even Megan Fox can ruin that.

Interesting point of view, and it is true that the fans will show enthusiasm for films just because they are there, but Comic con can also be a temperature gauge for how something will do. The first Iron Man panel showed that there was more than just modest interest in the film, which went on to success. On the other hand, The Spirit which by all accounts had a large Comic Con presence and a pedigree in the form of Con favorite Frank Miller was sniffed at by the fans at the con and went on to tank.
