The train collision scenes in The Train are realistic thanks to the National Railways of France, who let the filmmakers literally destroy a railyard that was going to be dismantled.

Some additional films involving trains not mentioned include:
The Palm Beach Story – A part of Preston Sturges\’ film involve a romp on a train from New York to Florida.
Without Reservations – a 1946 RKO film starring Claudette Colbert and John Wayne substantially taking place during a New York-Chicago-Los Angeles train trip.
3 for Bedroom C – This starred Gloria Swanson after she completed Sunset Boulevard. Its a B picture and takes place on the Super Chief from Chicago to Los Angeles.
