Its not exactly a well kept secret that every studio in town is looking to fill the void left by Twilight with their own franchise and in the process singlehandedly make profit on their quaterly returns, and at thsi stage it would seem like The Hunger Games is ahead of the game with mega-star Jennifer Lawrence leading the pack. A more interesting aspect will be to see if the whose who of actresses (and to a lesser extent actors) in the 16-25 range can break out or at least make the most of the exposure into a serious adult career.

And thank for pointing out that Andrew Nicholl hasn't actually directed a good film in years. I think Gattaca and The Tuman Show (as a writer) were his pinnacle and Lord of War was interesting but he's been getting mileage out of the 2 movies he made 14-15 years ago since then. Everything else he has made has had some interesting ideas but has been very mediocre.

I dont think you can predict these things. Your analyses doesn't really work. because you guys are talking about big name draws and movies not looking cinematic enough or whatever but the audience for these flicks don't really care. Certainly there are no real box office draws in Twilight and THG and they both have some of the worst CGI I've seen on reasonably budgeted big screen movies recently and the action in THG was barely a step above TV movie territory but the movies still made bank. Something else about these movies resonates with the target audience.

I just checked out the trailer for "Beautiful Creatures" after reading this and the accents are truly atrocious. Yikes!

hopefully director choose both robert pattinson and kristen stewart for his movie, which he;ll be directing name child44!, lot of us rob fans already read the book when we thought he was doing the movie!he chose christian bale, now he dropped out, so he need to ask both kristen and rob, it's a three part series, and we know it will be huge, if mr scott just get some sense think it's belong to summit/liongate..
