Don't be ludicrous. Season two of The Wire is practically beloved if you compare it to the disaster that was season five. Now that garbage is divisive.

Been thinking about FARGO S02 – why can't Alison Tolman play her mother? I mean, she's is a professional actress & what with a late 70's wardrobe/costumes it should be a cinch. Right?

It seems to me that really what has happened is that we've finally accepted more of a European/BBC model of tv. Shorter seasons, more premapped out, contained, singular voiced led shows that provide higher quality. This eliminates a lot of the excess fat and the treading water episodes.
