What besides Green Lantern was considered possible franchise? You fanboys really need to get over Green Lantern. It was stupid for Warner's to pour massive amounts of money into that character, especially with that script. That it's made back as much as it has is in part due to Reynolds.

I doubt many people are going to check in on a Ryan Reynolds led sequel. If anything, Universal has to worry that other studios might realize that men actually do go to the movies in the first quarter of the year and that if you put out a halfway decent action movie, it'll make some money given the dearth of male-centric fare in the months dominated by studio dumps, the carry-over Oscar bait from the previous year, and Valentine's Day targeted chick flicks.

The Bourne movies play on tv every week, and I am not exaggerating, they are on tnt or tbs or usa etc at least once a week and they still rent really well. I know tv and dvd isnt the same as BO, but will the movies you listed and Renners new version have the same longevity as the Damon/Greengrass movies? I don't think so. Also how much is the Renner version benifiting from the Damon movies? Will it be successful because of him or because of the name? Will Universal have to keep "Bourne" in the title for the movies to continue to well? And whether they need Damon or Greengrass or not if they want to come back and another movie Universal will let them easily and put up with whatever because it is pretty much an easy hit.
