In reply to Robert Hunt. This is the edition he's talking about. He did the minor visual changes on the "definitive director's cut". I was able to see it the other night at a screening and nothing major is changed. It's still very much the theatrical version, just looks a little better.

Kind of confusing, considering that I just received an e-mail announcing the forthcoming release of the “definitive director’s cut” of “Heat” thirty minutes ago.
