It's Derek Cianfrance, Focus or not he's not the schmaltz that the Oscars want (unless it's SERIOUS ACTRESSING like Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine, when Gosling was better & ignored), so just release it already, & don't cut a single frame. I'm sick of all these articles intimating that it's too long for release, a generation story with a 2:20 runtime is no big deal.

Seriously pathetic how the piece of shit company will hold the film back until the winter (likely) of 2013, just so they can get it in the 2014 Oscars. You gotta be kidding me.

I find it funny though, because now ALL three films that star Ryan Gosling that were supposed to come out this year, all three have been pushed to next year.

Don't you hate how the friggin' Oscars have to dictate when certain movies get released all the time? So, what, we're gonna wait a whole year before this already completed movie is finally released in theaters? I hope they at least show us mercy and give it a limited release in like May or June.

Can't complain too much though as 2013 is now giving us Cianfrance, Cuaron, Scorsese, Guillermo Del Toro, Neill Blomkamp, possibly Edgar Wright, Alexander Payne, Steve McQueen, Jason Reitman, Refn, Coen Brothers, Malick (assuming To the Wonder gets released next year which looks to be the case), Danny Boyle… just to name a few

The official press release from Focus Features already says its being released sometime in 2013…which Indiewire already posted days ago.
