I agree. Deckard contemplating what it means to be human and finding solace in the very thing he is supposed to hunt and kill is far more interesting than 'a replicant runs off with another replicant'.

The problem with saying Deckard is a replicant is that the film was made under the premise that he was human, with only Scott deciding later on during filming that Decakrd should be a replicant, so you start having to explain all sorts of things. Why isn't Deckard stronger? Why does Roy say 'you people'? Why is Deckard allowed to roam free? Why make a replicant to hunt replicants and let him have emotions that make him hate his job so much so he retires? The list goes on and on.

Also, the unicorn scene can easily be interpreted differently. If people can except that Gaff read Deckard's file and saw he dreams of unicorns then you can easily say that Gaff and Deckard read Rachel's file and saw that she dreams of unicorns. Therefore the unicorn actually represents Rachel. Which kinda makes sense anyway.

After all, unicorns are a human invention and so are replicants. Rachel is discovering the world all over again, having realised she's a replicant. She's starting from scratch. Unicorns are a symbol of innocence and purity. A lot more appropriate as a symbol for Rachel than poor old, world-weary, borderline alcoholic Deckard ;)

Blade Runner is dumber and less interesting if Deckard is a replicant, don't know why so many people get wrapped up in this other than it being it a precursor to all the modern dumbass "fan theories"
