Interesting article. I would of thought that The Dark Knight would of got a paragraph to itself, one of the most critically loved Superhero/Comic book movies, and at it’s heart it is about terrorism and our response to it. Also not to be “that guy” but when you say “latest Jack Ryan movie” do you mean at that time… or in general? Because there has been another one since.

While I appreciate the thoroughness of this article it seems like a whole section about all the political and war-themed movies that came out after 9/11 is missing. Films like STOP-LOSS, REDACTED, THE HURT LOCKER, IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH, SYRIANA, BODY OF LIES, BROTHERS, THE MESSENGER, GREEN ZONE, THE KINGDOM, RENDITION and especially FAHRENHEIT 9/11. It’s also worth noting that almost every one of these movies was also a financial failure, except FAHRENHEIT 9/11. Still, thanks for the article.
