I liked it, its been lazily called the inception ending, but its the best frame of reference, you aren\'t supposed to be spoonfed everything, that\'s making people and horror movies lazy, this movie stays with you because you can\'t be sire. and clearly its worked, its on a lot of peoples favorites list for a reason.

His motivation to handle the ending without any foreshadowing or clues is misguided. Yes, he\'s breaking rules boldly and intentionally, but that doesn\'t mean it\'s the right choice. In this case his decision comes at the cost of a structural/narrative payoff - which undermines what a horror film like this deserves. By withholding it, he\'s not giving us some greater meaning or thematic payoff, just disappointment across the board.

Don\'t get me wrong, it\'s a cool film. But the concept\'s execution was unintentionally silly in many places, and I think his reasoning identified here is precisely why.
