Hey Rodrigo, I've read that you'll moderate a Q&A with Gray next monday at BAM. I don't know if you'll ask questions directly but I've one humble suggestion for you : I’ve read a LOT of Gray interviews and nobody has ever asked him about his loves and thoughts on russian cinema. It seems strange to me because I think that all his movies have a russian soul, a melancholy soul, so it could be very interesting to know his tastes in this area. Thank you in advance.

It was a terrible interview, and a supremely frustrating experience to listen to as an audience member. I wanted to boo the interviewer off the stage. As you said Holdengräber had interviewed Lynch before and should have been prepared for his reticence to answer those questions. There is a world of other questions he could've asked - I'm sure Lynch would've been cool with telling more behind-the-scenes making-of stories, like the radiator one, that would've revealed some things even unintentionally. But instead Holdengräber just kept pushing and then sitting there letting awkward silences fill the room. It was a total wasted opportunity.
