Superman killing Zod doesn\’t bother me. But its emblematic of the larger issues with the movie – namely that it\’s inconsistent, tone deaf, joyless, unengaging slog, characters have no personalities save Zod and despite seeing him grow up, we never really get to know Superman at all. He\’s a boring empty nothing of a hero. Pointing out the out-of-character death and destruction is an easy way to express how problematic the movie is.

@Jeremy Oh yes it is so cool to hate on things everyone else hates on, like Man of Steel, Zack Snyder etc, etc. Name some movies you like Jeremy, because Man of Steel was the best Superman movie yet.

Anyone who actually knows the source material knows that Superman has killed Zod in the original stories and that\’s why he vowed never to kill again. The main problem I had with the movie was that Clark just stands there and watches Jonathan die. To paraphrase the 1978 Richard Donner film,"All these powers and I didn\’t even save him." That\’s the problem I had with Man of Steel. Other than that I enjoyed the hell out of it. It\’s the best big screen version of Superman we\’ve had, and probably the best we\’ll ever see. Oh yeah and Dark Knight was good too.

For the Superman movie, why couldn\’t killing Zod be the reason why Superman refuses to kill from here on out? I actually enjoyed the movie, moreso than most and I was hoping there would be more Superman movies in the future. It\’s a shame that there won\’t be.

I hardly believe that Nolan and Goyer didnt think in 3 movies from the beginning. It was conceived as a trilogy and there´s nothing wrong about that. I dont think they wouldnt feauture the Joker if they had one shot only.

I have been screaming this point at the top of my lungs since this movie has come out and I am glad to see Goyer say the same in his own words. Man of Steel is one of the best movies I have ever seen, regardless of category.
