How the fffk does this happen? Fincher is the most "I\’ll give you the bad news first" kind of director when it comes to budgets, so there\’s no way he just sprung this on them and they were told a lower number before. Would love to know what happened here. In the meantime, another Fincher movie soon plz

The Channel 4 series is very good (apart from ghoulish ultraviolence which only reads as faux edgy and cheap shocks). This debacle only underscores how tired the studios are, how they\’ll "improve", reboot and remake anything instead of investing in new material. Why not just commission a series idea from William Gibson? Try something new. It\’s as if the idea sickens them. Lame!

Kudos to Fincher. He had a creative vision, and rather than being forced to compromise he just left. I wish more directors were like him.

Is this utopia show a remake of the 2013 channel 4 series? If so, why do Americans networks feel the need to remake (rip off) evrithing? Why not, instead of throwing away 100 million, just re-air the original in the US? Which is superbly made. If you haven\’t, do check it out.
