With a $130M budget, a dark, edgy Biblical epic would need Pitt or Leo di Caprio to get greenlit I think. This doesn\’t sound like a film the Christian conservatives are going to rally around the way they did for Gibson\’s Passion of Christ so they need a big draw.

Bale works too. It\’s probably a (relatively) one-man show though so it\’s gonna have to be one of those A-listers that can carry an entire film.

How about Brad Pitt, he owes him one for bailing on the original Fountain, it would secure funding and it would be a full circle for these guys who have already tried it since (\”The Fighter\”).
