SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

While watching the movie, I honestly thought it was literally about an idea (Jennifer Lawrence) being worked at by the writer (Javier Bardem), until she got honed and published (pregnancy, giving birth), while other, newer ideas began invading her life / house (the other characters, begging for the attention of the writer).

I thought it was a cool "process" to portray on screen as an allegory.

Just as the idea (Lawrence) gives birth (story is published), everyone wants her baby (book). While other ideas ignore her, belittle her and try to push her out of the house (the writer's attention or mind).

...But then I read about the Biblical references, and those fit much better.
