Even though I did enjoy the movie while I was in the theater and Bale and Ledgers performances where good. It failed to leave an impression like, say, the low-budget “kids” did. So yes, it is not the best thing since “Citizen Kane” and may not even be in the top 15 of the year, but it came out at just the right time and under just the right circumstances. Plus all that marketing did hurt either.
