I\’ve said it before (elsewhere) but one thing The Avengers did lack in terms of its score was an actual theme. People tried arguing that there was one and maybe there was some vague inkling of it but Silvestri didn\’t bring it to where it should\’ve been (I didn\’t care for the score overall, largely because of a lack of thematic material – so many opportunities to lay the groundwork there and all we got was a re-use of his Cap theme). Since they\’re bringing in Elfman, it\’ll be nice to have an actual theme carried across these films.
