Hey I was the one who asked Danny the question if he would ever make a big-budget movie and would love to see him do a Bond movie. Sorry you got picked over for your question, but I really wanted to ask him that fanboy question and hear his response. And I thought he gave a great answer on why he doesn't want to do a big-budget movie. I even got more than what I bargain for when he mentioned he enjoys watching Chris Nolan and Ridley Scott movies and was even considered for Alien 4.

When I watched the clip of Trance u posted I also immediately knew they were playing Be My Wife by Bowie without the vocals, but u have it listed as 1997 btw. Also, where is the review of the film?

Shallow Grave may be my most favorite Danny Boyle. That movie is a underrated gem. The twists and turns in that movie are extraordinary.

Thanks for the write-up. I'm guessing he was referring to The Beach as the big tent-pole. I don't know if Boyle has ever gotten into the truth behind the gossip of that film, but it was speculated that the budget went way up after DiCaprio replaced Ewan McGregor. It cost about $50 million, making it his most expensive film. He hasn't spoken very fondly about the process of making it, especially since it's viewed as the bomb DiCaprio made after Titanic.
