Daniel Day-Lewis' name popped up in the tabloids a while ago in connection to this movie, months before it was announced that he'd be replacing Javier Bardem in Nine. My theory was Day-Lewis had been itching to do a musical, and after this one didn't get off, he took the role in Nine. Guess I was wrong.
