Seriously, Dane DeHaan deserve an Oscar nomination for Chronicle. His performance was complex, chilling , and compelling. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He will be around for a long time.

I totally wrote off this film has I wasn't too keen on the first one (outside of the Stone-Garfield chemistry) and I'm not a fan of Jamie Foxx (I still think that is a strange casting choice), but I have been really impressed with DeHaan so I'm considering seeing this again.

So nothing came of that second casting list with all the English actors that were allegedly frontrunners? Shows that these casting shortlist stories really have to be taken with a grain of salt. I liked the direction they were going with the group including DeHaan from the first cating list so this is good casting.

Solid casting. No doubt his work in Chronicle helped that decision – great portrayal of a sympathetic antagonist.
