Les Revenants wasn't exactly a zombie tale - though they were dead people suddenly brought back at the age in which they had died despite time passing, they weren't mindless flesh-eating monsters. I honestly felt that In The Flesh was a better series, since it had less supernatural twists and instead concentrated on the character side of what was happening. It did also feature some resistance to the cured zombies being reintegrated, but going by the sound of the review, it did so in a more nuanced fashion. The writer for ITF was inspired by the care in the community program in the UK where people who had recovered from severe mental disorders were given the ooportunity to return to normal life. The people in the small community were conflicted between welcoming back someone they knew, whilst also being afraid of how monstrous they had been. Although they were hostile to the protagonist, the fear that he could revert to being dangerous made that fear more understandable
