Why are they complicating this? The solution is simple: the producers should pay Foy retroactively so as to bring her rate in line with Matt Smith’s and pledge to be more sensitive to the issue of gender pay disparity going forward. What on Earth do they have to lose? The show is already a smash hit. Zero risk. All reward.

Instead, we are getting some harebrained idea where they donate the money that should have been paid to the actress to an organization fighting to get this actress fairly paid.

Ridiculous. Just do the right thing already. It’s not that complicated.
