Thank you for writing this, Rodrigo. Your points are well-made, and though they should be self-evident, unfortunately needed to be said. The accusations of conspiracy and “bias,” as if critics were writing to serve a nefarious agenda and not because they, you know, have an opinion, have always been laughable. This was cathartic to read. For whatever it is worth, I have been reading the Playlist religiously for years because, to your point, this staff reflects the critically-thinking, thoughtful and independent-minded point of view I seek out. I know I can trust you guys and yours are the first reviews I read, and the ones I trust most consistently. Keep on doing you, Playlist. In this reader’s opinion, at least, you always have and still are getting it right.
