There are absolutely zero consequences in Marvel films because you know they're pussified commercial items, and the death of any "good" character (not an extra) might rub 4 audience members the wrong way. Not good for the Cinemascore.

This reminds me, even when Coulson "died" in the movie, I never felt anything because deep down, I knew some laughable resurrection scene would happen someday. Here it is.

Just a tease to keep people watching. Feels like bad writing ploy on top of a bad writing ploy. 50% of the dialogue seemed to desperately reference the Marvel movies to try to give the whole mess a reason to exist.
