Wait until the movie comes out to judge for sure. We’ve also heard from this site that Michael was a Plan B incase Alexandre couldn’t work out the schedule: http://makingstarwars.net/2016/09/michael-giacchino-to-compose-rogue-one-a-star-wars-story/. So, maybe Giachinno planned something before being brought on.

Love Giacchino’s music and it’s probably a better fit but damn I was pumped to ear what Desplat would do with that franchise. That first iteration of RO: ASWS is looking more and more like the better movie that never was.
