Yes, he does with how the Mirror framed the quotes, but not at all in the actual interview.

They just took a bunch of random quotes (without sourcing btw) and recontextualized them.

Misleading headline, obviously Williams would have had to watch every scene of the Star Wars movies ad nauseum while composing. Also that line about his Star Wars music being “not very memorable” was an aside about the 100 or so films/scores in his entire filmography, not Star Wars.

Basically just gossip/click-bait. The full video interview with Smiley, however, is still on PBS’s site and pretty well worth watching. Might want to link to that instead!
