in translating these characters from page to screen, there\’s always been an emphasis on their physical/action side — it\’s what sells movies, sadly. Batman on the page works best when he\’s sleuthing (see Loeb and Sale\’s Long Halloween for a great noirish detective tale starring The Bat). I\’d love to see a full-on detective movie with Batman…

Weird to know ol\’ Grant was making a snap judgement based on what is actually very little appearance time in a trailer. The whole point of the thing is to get people excited to see the film overall and the focus is clearly on the two big names in the film\’s title with anyone else making an appearance clearly a tease for the "bigger" picture plan. I\’m not sure if he expected it to be a 15 minute short film that stopped on Wonder Woman to elucidate the plight of Amazonians and women in general. Maybe he wanted to see a tease for Diana performing involuntary castrations on both Bruce and Clark or something.
