It's no worse than a superhero or action movie like the Green Lantern.
Sure I'd rather see him in some stronger roles but he is doing a movie about Tolstoy isn't he.
I think he's better than actors we might consider his competition like Chris Pine, Ryan Reynolds, but those guys have had their stars burning a bit brighter. And the few months he spends doing Wanted 2 won't take away from his other opportunities. If taking Wanted 2 will get his other movies more exposure/interest then why not?

How about this for optimism: Wanted 2 can only be better than the first Wanted?
