Yeah Playlist – you got some points – but count me among those who thought JJ Abrams & Co. did a pretty good job in attempting to create a NEW monster.

Yeah it was kinda hokey – yet ANOTHER *exasperated sigh* let’s-wipe-out-NYC movie. But it had some redeeming value. it was an entertaining thrill ride – even if it did become a bit predictable towards the end.

Sure it isn’t gonna win any Oscars. It isn’t even a grade “A”. But even grade C+ and B- movies are worth the watch from time to time.

How can you appreciate a Steak if you don’t have baloney from time to time?

one thing i dont understand from the whole concept of we-are-going-to-destroy-newyork is that, new york is still very much alive. in reality. new york was practically destroyed by godzilla, by crazy weather in ‘the day after tomorrow’ and then some zombies roamed fifth avenue to scare the shit out of will smith, and then the statue of liberty! with the head’s off!
new york is still very much alive eventhough it’s the end of the world.

It plays out as if written by a 13 year old.
1)The monster seems to be following them where ever they go 2)The statue’s head just happens to land right in front of their apartment building
3)The bridge just happens to break when they are on it and whatever broke the bridge just happens to hit exactly where robs brother is 4)Beth happens to be alive when they find her
5) Their plane just happens to be jumped at and bitten by the monster while in flight
6)When the plane crashes they all live and are not injured but the two pilots die
7)When the bridge collapses on Beth and Rob at the end … the bridge breaking is enough to crush and kill two human bodies but not enough to crash a plastic video cam and tape?
There are a few more too that I can’t think of off the top of my head.
The movie just became so predicable. Plus, motion sickness made this a bitch to watch.
