Got a Tip?

Clove From ‘Hunger Games’ Joins Will & Jaden Smith In M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘After Earth’ (aka ‘1000 A.E.’)

nullSoon-to-be fifteen year old actress Isabelle Fuhrman is carving out quite a career for herself. She first came to notice as the creepy Esther in the horror flick "Orphan," went the indie route for "Salvation Boulevard" and this spring she'll feature in her first major tentpole with "The Hunger Games" playing Clove. And it looks like she's impressing the right people and she'll join one of the biggest movie stars on the planet — and his son — in another futurist tale.

THR reports that Fuhrman has joined M. Night Shyamalan's "After Earth" (formerly known as "1000 A.E.") starring Will and Jaden Smith. The project has been in the works for a while — and despite some rumblings that it might not go forward — it seems it's all systems go. With a recent script polish by none other than "Traffic" and "Syriana" screenwriter Stephen Gaghan, the story follows a father and son (Will and Jaden) who land on Earth a milllenium after it's been abandoned by humanity, and forced to battle against the elements when the father is injured. Fuhrman will play Rayna, Jaden's character's friend in the film.

It's nice big boost for the actress, who will also be acting alongside Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo who joined last month. Of course, the concern here is that it's a Shyamalan film who, when he isn't delivering increasingly cornball twist endings, is delivering dreck like "The Last Airbender." Here's hoping Gaghan got the script into a decent place.

Production will gear up in March, with the movie slated to hit on June 7, 2013.
