Reznor was well known BEFORE he recorded TDS at Tate\’s house, and that album sold millions because he had been building a career for years with constant touring and with previous great albums, and obviously also because of hits like \”Closer\” or \”Hurt\” and because of a huge sold out tour called \”Selfdestruct\” (not to mention their show at Woodstock that was watched by millions of viewers who had no idea where TDS was recorded).

Also he has sold millions of albums and has sold out all kinds of arenas for around 20 years, he has been quite a successful and respected musician from start to finish and he keeps being a successful musician these days scoring films or recording new albums.

About \”the kid who sent the tape\”, you must have forgotten how said kid lost the case in the courts and you must not have listened said tapes on youtube because they sound NOTHING like the songs he claimed Reznor had ripped off.

He got fame because he used Charles Manson\’s house 20 years after the tragic event. The media promotes him like he has some big time following yet he only performs in venues less than 1000 in major cities and doesn\’t even sell out those venues. He was brought to Federal court because she kid naively sent him a tape of his music and Reznor stole 5 songs from that tape. Good thing the kid used Fed Ex to have a record of the transaction. Just search YouTube and listen to the tape that was sent.
